Mt. Olive LWML
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) at Mt. Olive is a major part of the Women’s Ministry program at the church. The members support the work and activities of the congregation fostering Christian Fellowship and encourage the women of the congregation to grow spiritually and develop a greater mission consciousness by financially supporting mission projects.
The society has one “Circle” that meet weekly for devotions, Bible Study, and fellowship on Wednesday at noon.
Activities the society sponsor include two small group Bible Studies, Secret Prayer Sister Program, Annual Prayer Service, Luncheons, Summer Picnic, Harvest Bazaar in the Fall and Refreshments for the music department’s Christmas Concert. They also serve for receptions at funerals and weddings.
The business of the organization is executed by the Board of Directors who are elected in May. The elected officers are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman of the Bazaar. The appointed members include a representative from the Circle.
The LWML at Mt. Olive is a part of the Pacific Zone
LWML, Oregon District
LWML and the national LWML. The Mt. Olive society supports these groups
with the MITE BOX offerings monthly.
