RICK & BONNIE WILCOX

Unfortunately, RICK & BONNIE have moved away from Forest Grove but we'll always consider them part of  Mt Olive.

(prepared by Annie Jarrell)

RICK & BONNIE WILCOX

Forest Grove, OR

Rick and Bonnie moved to Forest Grove December 28, 2001.  Their goal was to be near a metropolitan area for work and still be near the country.  And they are, near the edge of Forest Grove where they can see the hills.

Actually, they have moved over twenty times since their marriage thirty-one years ago.  They met when she was fifteen and he seventeen.  They married two years later when she had graduated from high school.

Rick immediately went to Viet Nam and Bonnie stayed in San Jose, California, with her parents.  Wilcox’s have three grown children: Tiki, a daughter, who has two children and lives with her husband in Medford.  Jory is their son, married and living in Salem.  Kami is the youngest daughter with a new baby.  Her husband is in the AirForce and they live in Spokane.  Kami was in the Air Force herself when the met.

Bonnie works for the YMCA at Forest Grove High School as a teacher’s aid in a sense.  She takes care of babies while their Mom go to school (and you might say she takes care of Moms, too).  She loves her job.  Bonnie loves children and she and Rick have helped raise other children along the way.

In the process of moving twenty times Rick has done four years in the Air Force and four years in the Army.  In between the two “hitches,” he went to college and got a degree in Criminal Justice, although he does not work in the field.  He worked ten years in Santa Clara, California in electronics and then moved to Eagle Point near Medford and drove truck for twelve years long haul.  He now works for Stuart Stiles Truck Line locally.

Bonnie’s hobbies are gardening, sewing, babysitting, (at home and at work), and singing.  Her favorite hobby is “cooking dinner”.  We will all recognize Bonnie singing in morning Church.

Rick’s hobbies are motorcycling, books (Military history, and history, and science fiction), and golf.

When they visited Mt. Olive Church, they found it very comfortable and were surprised at the “low gossip factor”.  The size was very similar to their Church at Eagle Point.  They especially enjoy Pastor Dan’s bible classes.
