PHIL & KAY WHITTLE

LILLY WHITTLE

(PUPPY – CHLOE)

Forest Grove, OR 97116

Whittles live in a lovely house on a hill in the trees south of Forest Grove.  They have a view to die for.  They truck farm several acres of fertile land raising a large variety of vegetables and some fruit.  Their goal is to take their produce to the Farmer’s Market and also have a stand at their home.  This represents a tremendous amount of work.

Phil has been a construction and design landscaper for thirty years.  This work goes beyond yard maintenance.  It is the designing and creating of beautiful yards.  Originally the family lived at Colton, Oregon but they needed a place that was closer to work and family.  They moved here Oct. 1, 2002.

Kay works part time in Social Services and does projects for “Up and Out.”  Originally, she worked full time for several years during a time when there was great upheaval in the political and social changes concerning the housing and care of the handicapped.  Picking and choosing her work now is much more pleasant.

Whittles have always been church affiliated.  Kay was raised in the Lutheran Church and now they have chosen Mt. Olive as their church home and enjoy our traditional service.

Farming is Phil and Kay’s passion but other interests include Phil’s hobby, when he can find the time, to play the piano.  He enjoys classical music.

Kay was a weaver in the past and hopes to get back to it when time allows.  The family also enjoys traveling.

But first things first.  Their daughter Lilly is home schooled and in the third grade.  She also has two goats and will be in a 4-H Club this year.  However, she has to wait until fourth grade to be able to actually show her animals at the fair.  Lilly is also learning to play golf, a hobby her Mother may join her in, and she is raising a few pumpkins to sell in the fall.

Whittles love their farm and Mt. Olive.  We are very blessed and happy that they chose us.
