Wade, Geory, and Megan moved to this area
in September 08, 2001, to a motel in Hillsboro, on a Saturday, three
days later on 911 was the terrorist attack. Of course this left them
bewildered and in shock with the rest of us. More so, since they had
just left their close extended family
Wade and Geory were both born in Lincoln,
NE and married there in June 08, 1996. Wade joined the Navy and they
lived on the East Coast six years. Megan born at Omaha Air Force
hospital and Evan was born here.
When Wade left the Navy, he returned to
Nebraska and went to graduate school. They move here so Wade could work
at Intel in marketing, a much greater career opportunity than anything
offered in Nebraska.

When Sikkinks came to Oregon
to Intel they build their house and settled in Forest Grove, not
only because it was more affordable but because they were able to
find a lot large enough for a back yard and a little garden. |
In their search for a church home they
attended several wherever they lived, both in Nebraska and here, but
never found one that just clicked until they found our Saturday night
service at Mt Olive. They found this a very personable service and with
great interaction. They I decided this is the right church for them and
look forward to joining our congregation and meeting new people.
Wades hobbies are outdoors stuff
including hunting, especially bird hunting. Geory's a fulltime mother
and her hobbies include crafts. She is a demonstrator for “Stamping up
“, a type of home based business. She makes cards and scrapbooks.
Interestingly, dancing has not been one
of their hobbies. They had to take lesson so they could at least dance
at their own wedding.
Megan has learned to ride her bike
without training wheels, so this summer the family may take up bike
riding. I assume Evan will hitch a ride with one of them.
Megan will start school this coming fall
at Forest Hills school this fall. She also studies ballet and swims.
Evan goes Monday and Thursday to work
Verboort to the “Forest Grove indoor playground”, and indoor playground
that has been operating in Forest Grove area for 36 years. He also plays
music, little drums, and other instruments and sings with his mom.
On February 13, 2004 they bought
“Valentine”, a yellow lab, who is one and a half years old now, and is
Wade's bird hunting dog. He is also now a legitimate Family member.
