The Groneman’s have
been steady faithful members of mount olive church for the 50 years they
have lived in Oregon
Margie and you’ll
were originally from Kansas where they were married in 1948 and farmed
with their father.
When Margie’s son,
randy, was the five years old, gill’s parents decided to move to
Oregon. Margie had seen eastern Oregon once and wanted no part of that
but move they did in 1954. At least they moved to fertile western
Oregon to Scoggins valley where they farmed.
Later, the Scoggins
dam was built and they’ve bought Groneman’s farm. Margie and gill then
bought 60 acres up on the hill above the dam and in 1974 build their new
house. In 1976 they sold and moved in to forest grove on Nineteenth
Street and lived there for twenty years. In 1999 they moved to the
little house on twenty first place, always staying within the MT. Olive
community.
Gill has owned a
rock pit, drove a dump truck, and worked for Stimson’s Mill.
Periodically,
between raising children Margie worked as a bookkeeper at various
places: at a bank, at Camelot nursing home, Oregon egg (feed mill),
Copeland lumber, and compass electronics, finally at mount olive church
as a Secretary.
Children: randy
groneman and his wife sandy. He is in construction for northwest
earthmovers. Their children Ryan his man assistance strength coach in
Buffalo, New York. Chad works for their banks scale company. Heather,
who has just had a new baby, Madison, lives in Nampa, I D.
Christy and husband,
Dan Stone. Stones raise along warned roping steers on a cattle ranch in
Redmond, Oregon. Christy is a part time artist and has entered art
shows.
Margie is a born and
raised Lutheran. Her grandfather was a minister.
