(prepared by Annie Jarrell)

Roy & Candy Crawford

Heather, Kimberly,and Christopher

Cornelius, OR

We are pleased and appreciate that Candy and her children are active members of our praise team and Candy also plays are organ and  piano in the late service.  Roy  is the family’s support person, being sure we’re everyone is delivered, picked up and cared for.

Roy was born in Prosser Washington where his folks still live. His grandma was a homesteader and always made her own bread. She and Roy's  family lived next door in Prosser.

After he graduated in 1976 and when grandmother came here to live, Roy came to.  She had taught Roy to bake bread so that helped him get a job in the Vienna bakery in Forest Grove where he worked for ten years. Next he got a job for Perfection bakery, then downtown in Hillsboro, ( this used to be Schoen’s bakery ), where he worked for eighteen years and where he has been manager for the past year. Hanks now owns Perfection bakery.

For two years Roy has coached girls volleyball at Forest Hills Lutheran school where Chris attends.

Candy was born in Northridge California near Burbank. When she married she moved to Florida. Later, she came from Florida with Heather to live with her mother in Aloha who had moved near Portland to be with her family.

Roy and Candy met at Grace Lutheran church, now Reformation Lutheran in 1984. Pastor Dudley was the minister then. They met while playing adult volleyball at church.  Interestingly, their wedding was the last one performed at old saint Peter’s church.

Candy has always been very musical.  “she’s started taking piano lessons at five years old and became the church pianist at age thirteen. Incidentally, pastor Dudley was the pastor of Candy's church in California, at one time.

In the past Candy has worked for Hillsboro Pediatric clinic for twelve years. She has worked for three years at Tuality hospital as an education assistant.

IF her job and Mt Olive work weren’t enough, she plays the organ occasionally at saint Anthony’s and saint Peter’s.

Roy and Candy be both have always intended Lutheran churches.

Does it seem possible they would have any time for hobbies? Candy is on the church council and she and the family love camping and fishing when they get a chance.  Roy also loves golf, Hunting and sports.Candy's dream is to be a full time music minister and she also makes music tapes.

They also care for Mother Wagoner and brother Dennis at. Alterra  retirement homes.

Heather-Kim-Chris

Daughter Heather was born at Daytona Beach FL and came to Oregon with her mom when she was two and a half years old.  She graduated from forest grove high school and the year 2,000.  She attended Concordia. for two years any is currently at PCC .  Later she will transfer back to come Concordia for her degree.  She is a pre-med major with a psychology minor.  Even with school she lives on her own in Beaverton and works full time at Wells Fargo.

Heather sings in the praise team at church and often plays her flute for us and for her own pleasure.

Can you believe, her hobby is exploring different coffee shops in downtown Portland.  she is a collector, she collects coats and fairy figurines.  She loves family camp and is the families best fisherman.

Kim also sings in the praise team. She is a freshman at forest grove high school and is good in math. She is also a sports girl who loves basketball and her family camping and fishing trips.  Kim collects rocks and does a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles in two hours.  Then she glues them together. Her dreams for her future are in something involved in crime scene such as an investigator. Also oceanography and underwater exploring.

Chris sings in our praise team too. He is a seventh grader at forest hills Lutheran school and he enjoys, math, and writing. However, he is generally sports minded. His interests are in basketball and volleyball and he is the ball boy. Chris's other interests also include tennis, golf and bowling and video games. He collects turtle statues. Chris is an acolyte in church and is starting confirmation. He did sing in the forest hills choir for four years and played the trumpet one. This is one busy boy.
