His
role in the working world was as an investigator. He lived in
Germany two years and loved it. He did not care for France nor Italy.
Per ED, The French and Italians were not industrious people (besides
Paris is 35% syphilitic). He feels that Holland people are very bad
tempered but He loves Germany and also Switzerland. His parents
migrated from Germany in 1900 and settled in St. Joe, Michigan.
He
met his wife when she was 13 years old and married her when he was a
senior at Purdue in 1926. His wife was a registered nurse and died
two years ago on April 2. They have 2 sons, JR., a retired attorney
in Portland and Bob, a retire Boeing engineer in Seattle. Their
daughter was a flight attendant and the light of their life. She died
at age 57.
Something
unusual in Ed's life is that his wife's bed "was the only one
he ever slept in," [70+ year] something that is certainly admirable. |
